Wake Vortex

This is a famous photo of wake vortex study, showing the air flow from an agricultural plane. The circulation of air at the tip of the wing, also known as tip vortex. Tip vortices is powerful enough to effect the flow field of the aircraft behind it. This is the major reason why airports maintain a safe distance between airplanes during take-off and landing.
